Description:
XS / Creation of a 65m² loft
Located in Montpellier, the XS Loft project explores how a compact surface can be transformed through spatial strategy and sculptural architecture.
The intervention focuses on reorganizing volume rather than expanding footprint, creating a loft that feels both open and structured.
A mezzanine level was introduced to maximize vertical space and create a new spatial hierarchy within the apartment. This elevated platform allows the living area to remain generous while adding functional surface without compromising light or openness.
The architectural identity of the project is defined by a series of curved elements. A continuous curved ceiling flows through the space, accompanied by curved partitions that subtly divide the interior while maintaining visual continuity. These soft geometries contrast with the strict orthogonality of the existing structure and generate a fluid spatial experience.
The project plays with volumes, height, and perception. Graphic striped columns emphasize the verticality of the loft and highlight the generous ceiling height. Mirrors are strategically integrated to amplify light and create reflections that extend the perception of space.
Through the interplay of curves, reflections, and graphic architectural elements, the project demonstrates how a small surface can become a dynamic and expressive interior.
The XS Loft transforms a 65 m² apartment into a layered architectural landscape where movement, volume, and visual depth redefine the limits of compact living.
