42.PS / A Contemporary Apartment Above Dubai

42.PS is a 65 sqm residential interior project located on the 42nd floor of a tower in Business Bay, Dubai. Designed as a refined living space suspended above the city, the apartment offers panoramic views over Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, the Bugatti Tower, and the sea. The project explores the idea of vertical living as a contemporary form of luxury: quiet, sculptural, and deeply connected to light and horizon.

The design concept is rooted in softness and restraint, allowing the cityscape to remain the true protagonist. Interiors are composed as a calm counterpoint to the density and intensity of Dubai’s skyline. Custom-made furniture and bespoke elements define the space, favoring rounded forms, generous proportions, and tactile materials that invite touch and slow living.

Curved volumes structure the apartment, blurring the boundaries between architecture and furniture. Seating, tables, and built-in elements are conceived as continuous objects rather than isolated pieces, creating a fluid spatial experience. This approach reinforces a sense of cohesion while echoing the organic lines of the surrounding landscape, desert, sea, and sky.

The material palette is deliberately restrained: soft textiles, mineral surfaces, and warm neutral tones interact with natural light throughout the day. Stone tables, textured fabrics, and subtle metallic accents reflect the changing atmosphere of the city outside, from golden daylight to the muted glow of dusk.
Lighting plays a key role in shaping the ambiance. Soft, diffused sources and sculptural luminaires create intimate zones within the apartment, transforming the interior into a serene refuge once night falls, while framing the city lights beyond the glass.

42.PS is not conceived as a statement of excess, but as an elevated, thoughtful response to high-rise living. A project where bespoke design, craftsmanship, and atmosphere come together to create a calm, contemporary interior, poised between the vastness of the city and the intimacy of home.
